Vietnamese Grilled Pork Chops Recipe

Vietnamese Grilled Pork Chops Recipe
26/06/23

We’ve created a Vietnamese grilled pork chops recipe that makes replicating Vietnamese resturant dishes at home easy! All you need is a few common ingredients for the marinade, some fresh and delicious pork chops and a kitchen.

To ensure your Vietnamese grilled pork chops are absolute show-stoppers, here's our tip: Opt for thicker cut pork chops that will deliver a juicy and tender texture, preventing any chance of dryness when cooking.

Servings: 4

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 (about 250g each) pork chops, rind off
  • 2 plump Lebanese cucumbers
  • ¾ cup coriander leaves
  • ½ cup mint leaves
  • ½ small red onion, cut into very thin wedges
  • 1/3 cup roasted peanuts, roughly chopped
  • Steamed jasmine rice and lime wedges, to serve

Vietnamese Marinade -

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 small red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil

Get ready to treat your taste buds with these mouthwatering Vietnamese grilled pork chops. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Amp up the flavour of the pork chops - Place the pork chops into a large snap-lock bag. To make the delicious pork marinade, combine all ingredients in a screw-top jar. Shake well until it’s all combined. Remember to reserve ½ cup of the marinade for later. Pour the remaining marinade into the snap-lock bag, seal it tight, and give it a good shake to coat the pork chops. Pop the bag in the refrigerator and let the flavours marinate for 15 minutes (or longer if you have time).
  2. It’s time to prepare the salad - Use a vegetable peeler to slice the cucumbers length-ways in thin ribbons. Combine the cucumber ribbons, coriander, mint and diced red onion in a bowl. Chill until you're ready to enjoy.
  3. Grill it up - Heat up a greased char-grill plate or barbecue over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork chops and cook for 8-10 minutes or until just cooked through. As they cook, brush them with some of the remaining marinade to add extra flavour!
  4. It’s time to serve and savour - Transfer the grilled pork chops to a plate, cover them, and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute and the flavours to settle. Once the meat has rested,  serve the succulent Vietnamese grilled pork chops with the crisp cucumber salad and drizzle any remaining Vietnamese marinade overtop. We also recommend serving it with steamed Jasmine rice and lime wedges for a complete meal!
